Works with your database
Workbook Connect talks to the databases and warehouses your team already runs. Pick your platform below to see how the connection works, what authentication it supports, and what you can do with it from Excel.
One add-in, whatever you run underneath
The experience is the same on every platform. You browse a table, edit the values you need, and publish them back from the ribbon. Foreign keys turn into dropdown lookups, validation and column type checks run before anything is written, and the database stays the single source of truth throughout.
What changes between platforms is the plumbing: the driver, the authentication methods, and how the service itself handles writes. On SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Fabric SQL Database a commit is one atomic transaction, while Fabric Warehouse and Databricks work differently. Each platform page spells that out so you know what to expect before you install anything.
Any questions?
SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Fabric Warehouse, Fabric SQL Database, and Databricks SQL Warehouse are all supported in the current release. PostgreSQL and Databricks Lakebase are in development, and you can request early access from their pages.
No. Workbook Connect is one add-in and every supported platform is available on the free plan. The Pro plan adds the Validation Designer and Manage Access, not extra platforms.
Yes. Each table opens in its own worksheet and remembers the database it came from, so you can keep sheets from several databases side by side. Committing works one connection at a time: sheets that belong to a different server or database are skipped and reported rather than written.
Get in touch and tell us what you run. We prioritise new platforms based on what people ask for, and the connection layer is built so that adding one is mostly a matter of driver support and testing.
